Welcome to Catalonia

The route overview
Homage to Catalonia. Orwell’s classic describes a region that is more than a physical entity, but also an idea and a way of life. With Catalan independence a live political issue of late, there has never been a better time to come and discover what makes this part of Spain unique. In doing so you will cycle around an area not just favoured by adventurers and dreamers but also professional cyclists, many of whom are based here due to the ideal climate and perfect roads.

This tour is among our most accessible; the daily mileage can be managed with a few hours cycling before and after lunch, leaving time to explore the towns which are a feature of this trip, including Dali's beloved Cadaqués. Packing in swimming spots and plenty of time on the beach, you’ll no doubt leave this trip hailing Visca Cataluña!

Your words, not ours...

"I joined the Milan to Barcelona trip and was so nervous/excited when I signed up as I knew it would be a huge challenge for me, and it was, but also brought with it a huge opportunity to meet some amazing people and learn a lot about myself, about alternative ways of living which tread more lightly on the earth, and see some incredible landscapes. Joe and his team had the perfect balance of good humour, empathy and encouragement, and the rest of the group were just as wonderful - patient with my pace and always up for a chat about anything. I would really recommend the experience and will certainly be keeping it in mind to do again in the future myself!"

It’s not all about the speed, as Louise Denham recollects in her Brake the Cycle experience

The following blog reminds us that the only mountains one needs to really overcome are the ones we make in our mind. After all, with a little practice and determination, the Alps were just another path in the hilly cycling of Brighton based Hannah Bywaters

Cycling from Lisbon to Seville visiting flagship ecological projects was an inspiration for Ellie O’Grady. Along the way her encounter with the Rock Rose, a pioneer plant of a delicate nature, invited closer inspection of both the surrounding ecosystem and the landscap...
